Chris Hemstad is the founder of Boreal Explorations EcoAdventures (BEEA) and is an experienced scientist, wilderness guide and educator. The idea behind BEEA stems from Chris’ passion for the scenic beauty and knowledge of the geological and ecological significance of the border waters area. Chris has been in love with exploring the border waters area since childhood and, summer
or winter, can take you to the most intimately hidden and seldom visited portions of Voyageurs National Park. With this in mind, BEEA is a company that is defined by ecological expedition tours with the goal of creating a profitable business that promotes environmental conservation
and education while at the same time contributing to the economic sustainability and growth of
the region. BEEA is the first local company to seriously promote ecotourism in the Voyageurs National Park area, while at the same time providing educational and life-long learning opportunities to local and non-local clients interested in the outdoors.
